Responsible for delivery of Paginated and Crystal/BOBJ Reports as well as stored procedure development. The candidate will meet with the business users to qualify requirements for reports, create reports from scratch, and take existing reports and improve their performance. This role will lead on innovation and development whilst promoting and delivering best practice in the business intelligence field. This will also include the improvement of legacy systems whilst designing for the future by utilizing the latest tools, processes and disciplines in Business Intelligence. This position works under limited supervision and exercises decision making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expert ability to use Paginated and Crystal/BOBJ Reports, Agile software development lifecycles
  • Expert in SQL queries, SQL tuning, PL/SQL, and stored procedures
  • Expert ability to develop new report templates and enhancing existing ones
  • Strong attention to detail skills with the ability to identify errors in a testing environment
  • Participate and provide guidance where required, in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) submitting work for technical test, cosmetic test and applying re-work when required.
  • Dimensional Modelling (Kimball Methodology), database principles and ETL (Extract, Transform and Load).
  • Coordinate and maintain the reporting requirements backlog, working with stakeholders to deliver value at the right time.
  • Required to perform duties as BI System administrator (Release, Security & Server).
  • Lead the creation of new reporting and improvement to existing reporting commitments
  • Responsible for the BI system infrastructure availability
  • Lead and implement continuous improvements to the BI outputs as part of RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis) following incidents.
  • Develop and deliver BI requirements as part of wider project teams for new and existing customers.
  • Provide training and guidance to the wider team, promoting best practice and process improvement
  • Experience in BOBJ CMC (Central Management Console) or the Crystal Reports upload wizard
  • On-the-fly report design, QA and deployment to solve immediate production issues.
  • Develop and mock-up quick prototype reports to demonstrate user requirements.
  • Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Customer, understanding commitments, targets and drivers and helping to support these.
  • Provide support to the global BI team with a focus on continual service improvement.
  • Active participation in global team meetings and events when required.
  • Support and maintain existing Crystal reports with a focus on moving these across to a new platform.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience of interfacing with internal and external stakeholders and communicating with a varied audience
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Crystal/BOBJ Reports Developer.
  • Proven expertise in Crystal/BOBJ/WEBI reports development
  • Strong Paginated Report builder and data set knowledge
  • Ability to navigate complex databases with SQL (Structured Query Language) across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to create and maintain reporting datasets in multiple database platforms. (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Ability to understand existing and new business processes and requirements to ensure proper implementation and validation of systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills ensuring the ability to interact with the business, peers and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
