Job Summary: To carry out repairs to component level, servicing and testing on a wide variety of electronic, PC based, and electro-mechanical equipment. You will need good fault-finding, soldering and hand-tool skills on a wide range of products. You will also be involved in supporting other areas of the business during upgrades to existing equipment, and development and rollout of new equipment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs to component level, servicing and testing of a wide range of electronic, electro-mechanical and PC based equipment.
  • Fault finding to component level with or without the aid of drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Documenting all repairs on customer services databases.
  • Liaising with Repair Centre management and other departments to deal with problems and inquiries.
  • Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures, including the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • ONC level qualification (or equivalent) in an electronic/PC based discipline, or an electro-mechanical/mechanical based discipline.
  • Previous experience in an electronic/electro-mechanical repair or production/test environment.
  • Extensive experience in the use of hand tools & soldering equipment (through hole and SMD).
  • Experience in the use of electronic test & fault-finding equipment – DVM, Scope, software tools for example.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with automatic revenue collection equipment and passenger control systems and hardware.
  • Some knowledge of software – Loading software or operating systems, retrieving log files, configuring software parameters on a repaired module, analysing logs for example.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001.
  • Understanding of ESD protection (Electro Static Discharge).
  • Experience of PAT testing for electrical safety.
  • HNC or HND (or equivalent) in a related engineering discipline matching the vacancy.
