The predicted salary is between 34650 - 42350 £ per year.

Responsible for ensuring that all test equipment is commissioned for use, and under full configuration control.

This will include providing the necessary support to manage and control the test environments.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as technical support to install, configure and commission new equipment/systems introduced into the Test area
  • Liaise with the Test and Engineering teams to identify equipment needs
  • Support the wider Test team by ensuring equipment is set up and available for use to meet project commitments
  • Prepare the test area for customer visits and liaise with the customer during witnessed test
  • Maintain the Test Environments and ensure that all equipment is kept in working order (fault finding to unit level and replace defective units)
  • Interrogate error logs to identify issues and provide solutions to resolve these issues
  • Liaise with the IT Infrastructure teams and co-ordinate patches and smoke tests for the different environments
  • Identify bugs and defects with test devices and actively problem solve
  • Swap defective modules and manage timely correction through collaboration with the Repair Centre
  • Contribute to the maintenance of configuration records for all the test equipment
  • Keep management team fully informed of progress, issues and any complications
  • Proactively maintain own knowledge of allocated devices / systems
  • Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures.

  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Skills knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrable experience working in a Test role/environment, working with multiple devices
  • Experience within Transport Systems, AFC Systems or Automotive industry
  • Ability to produce timely, quality paperwork and high standard report writing
  • Proven track record of working to deadlines
  • Ability to understand / interpret new technologies and train others
  • Customer management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge of Networks
  • Awareness of project targets and completion dates

Education and qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Formal training or extensive experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft MCSE/MSCA accreditations
  • ITIL Foundation
  • City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 Electrical Testing & Connecting Certification or similar qualification
  • Siemens IC 4 Configuration Training and Accreditation
