We are seeking a skilled, customer-focused Catering & Barista Assistant to support the Chef Manager in delivering a high-quality, in-house catering service to Cubic employees. This role is central to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our team through excellent food, beverages, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Barista & Beverage Service: Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages to order, following Cubic's quality standards and customer preferences. Maintain expert knowledge of our coffee offerings and educate customers on available options. Ensure safe, hygienic, and efficient preparation of drinks.
- Customer Service & Front of House: Deliver exceptional customer service with a professional and personable approach. Take orders and process payments accurately, upselling where appropriate. Be well-informed about all menu items, with a strong focus on allergens and dietary requirements. Maintain a clean, presentable, and inviting front-of-house and seating area.
- Kitchen & Operational Support: Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties as directed by the Chef Manager. Follow all Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks across both front and back of house. Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed to standard.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Barista (certification or hands-on experience).
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- High attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently during quieter periods.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or front-of-house environment.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety practices in food service.
Desirable
- Food handling or Health & Safety certification.
- Formal Barista training or certification.
