Explore more on Cubic.com.Job Details:Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare detailed functional test specifications for both device and system testsUse industry standard test tools to develop manual and automated tests in a variety of programming languagesConduct subsystem, system and user level testingConduct end-to-end testingDocument tests results and share findings with development teams and project stakeholdersLiaise with Engineering departments and customers with regard to testing of projectsConduct tests both in house and in the presence of the customerPrepare and conduct in-house reliability testsCoordinate and oversee the work of Test Technicians, collating results and reporting defectsPrepare and conduct environmental testsPrepare and issue test reportsPerform Defect ReviewsPrepare and Maintain the test configuration environmentsSupport with the automation of testing activitiesComply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their Manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.Skills knowledge and experience: Essential:Solid previous experience within a Product test or QA environment.Experience of manual and exploratory testingExperience of building and executing test cases and plansExperience using TestRail and JiraExperience of testing methods, including test-driven development and automated testingExperience of each stage of the Software Development Life Cycle.Effectiveness within previous role of ensuring software is released with a minimum of defects reaching the customerAbility to write good reports and general word processing skills (Word, Excel, Databases).Good day to day planning skills, co-ordination and control under pressure.To work equally well on their own as well as within a team.Windows and Linux experienceDesirable:Relevant industry/product knowledgeExperience of either London Transport or automotive industry testingKnowledge of Serial and TCP/IP comms protocols and configurationAgile/Scrum experienceParticipate in interviews for recruitmentWorking knowledge of SQL, Basic UNIX and Confluence.Linux Shell scriptingUse of Project Planning ToolsAwareness of Smart/Payment Card technology and public key encryption technologiesEducation and qualificationsEssential:HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline OR relevant industry experienceISTQB FoundationDesirable:Degree / MSC in Engineering DisciplineTest automation knowledge or experiencePersonal QualitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.Interpersonal skills with a willingness to share knowledge and collaborate effectively with individuals and other departmentsDiligent, with attention to detailAbility to problem solve and find effective resolutionsAbility to work as part of a team towards individual and shared goalsEnthusiastic and self-motivatedAbility to work on own initiative.Direct Customer liaison (Witnessed Testing).Able to work Overtime / weekends when required. Willing to transfer to other locations if appropriate.Able to travel to customer sites (Full driving license - Not essential).
