To monitor the day‑to‑day performance of Field engineering using statistical data, on‑job quality assessments and through regular contact with the FRC, resource planners and technical support departments. To investigate and repair ongoing faults on any equipment as contracted. Minimise repair times by managing and monitoring individual and team workload and output. To investigate and prepare reports including but not limited to a comprehensive shift hand over report and make recommendations on potential or actual problems. To continually develop and identify systems and processes that improve the reliability and maintainability of assets. Ensure standards of quality as defined by the company and customer are achieved or exceeded. Comply with all statutory Health and Safety Acts and with the customer regulations where applicable.
To effectively plan retrofits and upgrades by liaison with customers, Field Services Managers and/or other Cubic departments or Original Equipment Manufacturer’s. To deputise for Field Services Manager where required. Carry out risk assessments and continually review and identify safer methods to reduce or remove risks. Undertake performance evaluation of staff on a regular basis to ensure customer requirements and Cubic performance standards are being met. Carry out quality and safety audits. Identify, set up and maintain good relationships with the customer. To assist FRC staff where necessary. Technical liaison with customers and any other contractors as required.
Preparation or review of all programs, technical schedules and safe systems of work. Co‑ordinate Technical Specialists workflow, so that they can effectively respond and resolve any technical issues in a timely manner. Collect briefing material to communicate effectively with team members at regular scheduled meetings. These meetings are to be documented and arranged at times when minimum disruption is caused to service cover. Ensures that field engineers maintain all company property in good order and that company standards are maintained through regular checks.
Develops interpersonal, technical and leadership skills to motivate and instruct team members, molding individuals into an effective and cohesive team. To carry out investigatory and/or disciplinary action. To identify resource requirements and assist with recruitment. To identify training requirements and ensure correct level of training and coaching. Ensure that all staff under their responsibility complies with the statutory Health and Safety at Work Act and with the customer regulations applicable. Ensure that all staff under their responsibility carries out work to standards of quality compatible with ISO9001. Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time‑to‑time, as may be reasonably required of them.
