Job Summary: This role is responsible for providing maintenance and repair of client equipment on Cubic‑maintained assets, ensuring devices are returned to full service and maintained to the highest possible standard while achieving relevant contractual SLAs. It offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of technology within the transportation sector and exposes you to all areas of transportation technologies, including automated fare collection and contactless payments.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine and preventative maintenance.
- Respond to and repair Cubic device faults promptly and follow defined maintenance procedures to maximise device reliability and availability.
- Carry out the Minimum Call Procedure (MCP) during any work on Cubic‑maintained assets.
- Direct responsibility in minimising contractual downtime on devices.
- Attend training and development courses.
- Constantly improve performance through training, experience, and KPI feedback.
- Ensure asset maintenance is reported in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure personal administration is completed promptly, including timesheets, Workday items, and vehicle checks.
- Provide support to the Maintenance Team Leaders and Field Services Managers.
- Ensure all relevant working practices comply with statutory health and safety policies and external customer requirements.
- Attend and proactively participate in the Maintenance Team meetings.
- Assist with stock takes when requested.
- Collect and deliver parts from store locations.
- Work in a shift pattern.
- Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, Quality, Security, and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
- Perform other duties assigned by Line or Department Manager as reasonably required.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Essential (Skills, Knowledge, and Experience):
- HND, C&G or recognised qualification in Electronic or Mechanical engineering.
- Proven hands‑on experience in a similar role, including maintenance of equipment.
- Experience of working in teams.
- Mechanical, electrical, or electronic aptitude.
- Basic network systems knowledge.
- PC literate.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience of working on SLA‑driven contracts.
- Basic fibre optic experience.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Minor civils experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
