Job Details: As an apprentice within the IT System Support Team, you will work in a supported learning environment to develop skills and knowledge which will assist in completing a relevant qualification. This is an onsite role in South Queensferry.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- To undertake a development programme leading to a Scottish Vocational Qualification as part of an apprenticeship.
- Be willing to undertake any training and qualifications appropriate to the apprenticeship.
- To actively participate in their own development plan which will be agreed with the line manager and the apprentice supervisor.
- Attend college and complete assignments on time.
- Complete tasks and maintenance as set by the Manager/Apprenticeship Supervisor.
- Gain skills required to carry out:
- First and second line maintenance on any equipment as contracted to The Project at any time.
- Respond and repair devices in a timely manner and follow defined maintenance procedures to maximise device reliability and availability.
- To undertake the training and development programme provided to the best of your ability.
- To constantly improve performance through training and experience.
- To minimise downtime on Fault Incidents and action Support Requests.
- To assist with the installation or maintenance of equipment as required by The Project.
Skills knowledge and experience:
- Able to follow instruction and learn new tasks.
- Able to work flexibly as part of a team.
- Able to attend work at required times and locations.
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship.
- Willing to learn and to take responsibility for their own development.
- Willing to organise and prioritise own workload.
Education and qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs with passes including English and maths or equivalent.
- Current grading system L4 and above in all subjects.
