As an Electrical Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of the company on-site at customer facilities worldwide. You will commission, service and support highly sophisticated high-speed machinery, working directly with major manufacturers to keep critical production lines running at peak performance. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment - and who wants to see the world while doing it.

- Base Salary: 40,676
- With Service Pay Premium (80%): 73,216.80

What You'll Be Doing
- Electrical commissioning of high-speed machinery at customer sites across the UK and internationally
- Checking and correcting electrical installations, identifying and resolving faults with precision and efficiency
- Modifying and updating PLC, HMI, VFD and servo drive software to meet customer and production requirements
- Producing detailed site reports, timesheets and RAMS documentation to the highest standards
- Updating electrical drawings and feeding back continuous improvement recommendations to the engineering team
- Providing remote technical support to customers when not deployed on-site
- Supporting the Electrical Engineering Department at the Shipley and Wortley sites when not outworking
- Acting as a trusted technical ambassador for the business in front of a global customer base
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications & Knowledge
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
- Strong understanding of control panel design, form and function
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical 2017
- Familiarity with safety PLC systems, including VFD Safe Torque Off (STO) and safe stop functions
- Knowledge of industrial Ethernet networks: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and PROFIsafe
- Familiarity with legacy control networks such as PROFIBUS and DeviceNet
- Experience with IFM and Turck sensors and instrumentation
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical service and commissioning of high-speed machinery
- Time-served apprenticeship as an Electrical or Test Engineer
- Proven experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC platforms
- Experience with Siemens S7 and TIA Portal
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525 and 753 VFDs, and Siemens G120 VFDs
- Practical experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens servo drive and servo motor control
- Experience across multiple complex, high-volume capital equipment projects
- Skills & Attributes
- Systematic, methodical approach to fault finding and problem resolution
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — with the ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical 2017, including drawing modifications and updates
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Recognises the urgency of a situation and responds with the right level of priority
- Team player with a can-do attitude — punctual, reliable and self-motivated
- Comfortable with extensive international travel (approximately 200 days per year)
