Semi-skilled Assembly Fitters – Fixed-Term Stability | Immediate Start | Wortley, Leeds

£28,744 per annum (£14.74/hour). Fixed-Term Contract (Until End of 2025). Full-Time, Day Shifts. Monday to Thursday 6am to 2pm; Fridays 6am to 11.30am.

We\’re urgently recruiting experienced Semi-skilled Assembly Fitters for a world-renowned engineering business with a proud legacy dating back to the 1930s based in Wortley.

The Role

You\’ll be assembling and testing complex, high-precision OEM machinery in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

  • Building sub-assemblies using standard SOPs and fixtures.
  • Preparing components for painting (washing and masking).
  • Preparing painted components before assembly, such as re-tapping, reaming, and preparing machine surfaces.
  • Marking off, drilling, and tapping.
  • Fitting exterior equipment: nameplates, labels, guard switches, guarding, hydraulic hoses, and auxiliary pumps.
  • Routing steel and nylon pipework as directed.
  • Fitting non-electrical machine services before testing.
  • Non-electrical stripping of machines before despatch.

What You\’ll Get

  • Salary: £28,744 per annum (£14.74/hour)
  • Contract: Fixed-Term until end of 2025
  • Holiday: 28 days rising to 33 after 12 weeks
  • Hours: Full-time, days (no nights!)
  • Pension: Enrolment after 12 weeks
