We're recruiting for a production engineer to join our prestigious engineering client based in Shipley. The role will design methods of manufacture through the interpretation of models and creation of CNC part programs.
Our client is a Global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of high-speed metal forming and finishing machinery, with an $8.5 bn turnover, a reputation for excellence and operations in 41 countries. Salary, hours and benefits:
- Salary of £39,300 per annum
- Non-contractual annual bonus
- 33 days holiday (inclusive of stats)

- Up to 9% employer pension contributions, 6% employee contributions
- Flexible start and finish times, 37.5 hours per week – core hours Monday to Thursday 9:30 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:30 & Friday 9:30 to 13:00.
About the role:
The role purpose is to interpret 3D models through CAM system, create CNC Part Programs to manufacture parts on our various CNC machine tools. Use of post processor and simulation tools to prove code before release to production.
Duties include:
- Evaluate part Drawings/Models for manufacture
- Design a method of manufacture for each operation
- Select tooling, apply cutter paths using CAM software
- Produce a setup sheet and tool build documents
- Carry out electronic prove out using Vericut, Veriprog and Mazak Smooth
- Carry out prove out with the operator at the machine
- Maintenance of existing Programs and Shop Doc’s
- Liaise with all departments including external suppliers
About you:
The successful candidate will hold formal technical qualifications (ONC or above) in Mechanical Engineering and have experience in a similar role with considerable experience in engineered part manufacture. Ideally you will have experience within the machinery manufacturing sector or with wide metal working process experience. Proficiency in CAD & CAM – 3D CAD is essential – Siemens NX preferred.
