We are recruiting experienced MIG welders for an ongoing contract with potential progression to permanent roles. ATTRACTIVE PAY & FLEXIBLE SHIFT OPTIONS

All shifts are 39 hours per week. Annual figures below are based on basic hours only - overtime, which is regularly available, is paid at premium rates on top.

  • ROTATING DOUBLE DAY SHIFT
    Weekly rotation: Week A (Early) | Week B (Late)
    Week A – Mon–Thu 05:45–14:00 + Fri 05:45–12:45
    Week B – Mon–Thu 13:45–23:45 (no Friday hours on the late shift = 3 day weekend!)
    Starting Rate: £19.79/hr | £40,134 per year
    After 12 Weeks: £22.95/hr | £46,542 per year
  • DAY SHIFT
    Monday -Thursday 7:30 am - 4:15 pm and Friday 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
    Starting Rate: £15.83/hr | £32,133 per year
    After 12 Weeks: £18.88/hr | £38,331 per year

ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

Over 60 years in the design, manufacture, and delivery of modular and temporary building solutions – they’re the genuine market leader in their space. Well-funded, well-organised, with production volumes that mean consistent ongoing work, not the stop-start that smaller manufacturers face.

THE ROLE

Based at the production facility near York (YO32), you’ll be MIG welding mild and galvanised steel up to 10mm thickness as part of an active manufacturing team. This role demands accuracy, consistency, and the ability to work at pace without compromising weld quality.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • MIG weld mild and galvanised steel structures (varying thickness up to 10mm)
  • Inspect welds against quality standards and specifications
  • Carry out snagging, repairs, and remedial work to a high standard
  • Perform visual quality checks and report defects or production issues
  • Work from engineering drawings and production instructions
  • Use hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment
  • Support production targets while upholding workmanship standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

An experienced MIG welder who takes quality seriously and is comfortable working at production pace. Specifically:

  • Relevant welding certificates or previous coded welding experience
  • Level 3 welding or fabrication qualification - desirable, consideration will be made for those with level 2 qualification and extensive experience
  • Proven MIG welding experience in manufacturing or production
  • Ability to inspect weld quality and carry out snagging and fettling
  • Confident using hand tools and workshop equipment
  • Able to work from engineering drawings and follow technical instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and genuine commitment to quality
  • Flexible and reliable
