Role mission: As a Lead Technical Product Owner, you will be a key client advocate in the delivery team, helping to drive its vision, strategy, and execution. You will work closely with product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to turn the product roadmap into clear deliverables. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful delivery of the product, making sure are focused on the most important work, meeting milestones and keeping stakeholders informed.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Product Ownership: Take technical ownership of the product. Work with the Product team to align on strategy to execution, ensuring it meets business goals and user needs. Advocate for quality, simplicity and strategic fit. Act as liaison between stakeholders and engineering. Lead on investigations involving Product, Customer, and Support teams. Handle inquiries about product behaviour.
- Delivery Prioritization: Own prioritization across stakeholders, balancing competing demands and ensuring the most valuable features are delivered first.
- Feature Specification: Work closely with Heads of Product to document the business value, success criteria, and technical specifications of new features and enhancements.
- Technical Analysis: Collaborate with Engineering to estimate, design, and plan the work in detail, resulting in clear, comprehensive user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
- Stakeholder Management: Keep Heads of Product and other stakeholders informed of progress, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Agile Processes: Ensure agile processes are followed, including keeping tickets and documentation up to date, driving accurate estimation, capturing and monitoring metrics.
- Quality Assurance: Pair with engineers to confirm acceptance criteria have been met and manage defect triage and prioritization. Ensure QA processes are adhered to.
What we’re looking for: Proven track record of success as a Technical Product Owner and Business Analyst on complex, data-intensive B2B software. Good understanding of products with similar tech stacks (e.g., Angular, C# .NET, SQL, Elastic, Azure). Strong project and cross-functional stakeholder management skills. Experience working with in-house and outsourced mixed development teams. Authority to push back on unclear business requirements that are unclear in business value of user experience, or misaligned with product strategy. Comfort with complex data domains. Strong technical writing ability. Experience with API design. Thriving in an agile environment.
