We're looking for a proactive, organised, and safety-driven Operations/Depot Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the East Midlands waste site depot. If you excel at solving problems on the ground, and take pride in running a smooth, compliant operation, this role offers the perfect challenge. As this is a relatively new site it will be an initial stand alone operation until the fleet and team is built around you, so plenty of opportunities for career development.
What You'll Be Doing
- Overseeing daily depot operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance
- Developing a team of operatives and drivers
- Managing site resources, equipment, and vehicle movements
- Ensuring all waste handling, storage, and transfer activities meet regulatory standards
- Monitoring performance, identifying improvements, and implementing practical solutions
- Working closely with senior management to support service delivery and operational planning
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Operational experience, ideally within waste, logistics, or depot environments and looking for that step up to management or a new management role
- A hands-on leader who communicates clearly and keeps teams focused
- Ability to prioritise, plan, and adapt to changing demands
