We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven Health and Safety professional to join this team. Responsibilities include:
- Proposing solutions and supporting implementation.
- Updating and developing policies and procedures, ensuring they are relevant, understood, and meet health and safety legislation requirements.
- Developing and delivering communication briefs promoting a positive health and safety culture across the business.
- Working with site managers and operational managers to ensure activities are carried out in a zero-harm manner.
- Producing management information and reports, completing analysis of issues and making suitable recommendations for resolution considering short and long-term impacts.
- Leading incident investigations, writing reports, agreeing corrective or improvement actions, and following up on closure to a high professional standard.
- Working with the Compliance Manager in managing the business ISO certified systems.
- Keeping up to date with changes to developments in health and safety legislation and other requirements that affect the business and wider industry.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience of site-based/Manufacturing industry health and safety would be a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
- Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with colleagues and customers at all levels.
- Excellent organisation and time management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
We are looking for a manager who will roll their sleeves up and get on site working with site managers to come up with health and safety solutions and should be an excellent communicator with strong commercial awareness. This may suit someone who is looking for a step up in their career.
In return, working Monday - Friday days, this role attracts a package of £45,000 - £50,000pa plus a range of benefits including car allowance or company car.
