Job Purpose: The role will support the pre-contract phase of projects, working closely with the bid writer, estimators, project managers, and other team members to ensure that all necessary documentation, procedures, and administrative tasks are completed efficiently. This role is crucial in the preparation for contract award and the smooth transition into the project execution phase.

- Plan and coordinate site operations and resources
- Oversee contract performance, ensuring the civil engineering works are completed as per the agreement.
- Ensure timely resolution of any contractual issues or disputes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between contractual agreements and project delivery
- Provide technical and commercial support
- Report and forecast
- Review, negotiate, and draft civil engineering contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all contractual documentation.
- Advise the project team on contractual rights and obligations
- Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Address any client or stakeholder concerns related to contractual matters.
- Manage the contract's financial performance, including cost control and invoicing.
- Monitor project progress against the agreed payment milestones and ensure payments are received in a timely manner.
- Review change orders and variations and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Oversee audits and inspections related to contractual compliance.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Anticipated/Aspirational Qualifications/Experience/Technical knowledge:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is desirable.
- At least 5+ years of experience in contract management within the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract terms, and legal requirements in civil engineering.
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, APM, or similar) is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with site visits required. Occasional travel to project sites. Flexibility in working hours may be needed, depending on the stage of the project.
