The Role
This is a strategic, relationship-led business development role focused specifically on the UK education sector. Working closely with the Head of Strategic Growth & Partnerships, you will help drive Cubbie’s growth across:
- Multi Academy Trusts (MATs)
- Inclusion and wellbeing services
This role would suit someone who has worked within, or extensively alongside, the education sector and understands the pressures schools and councils are currently facing around Ofsted expectations.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, opening strategic conversations, supporting pilot programmes and helping education organisations understand the measurable impact Cubbie can deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Education Sector Development
- Build and develop relationships across Local Authorities, MATs and maintained schools
- Engage with key stakeholders including Directors of Education, SEND Leads, Inclusion Managers, School Improvement Teams, Headteachers, Trust CEOs, SENDCOs, and Alternative Provision leaders
- Identify strategic opportunities linked to inclusion, SEND, attendance and wellbeing priorities
- Develop strong understanding of regional and national education priorities and funding routes
- Support expansion into education frameworks, partnerships and pilot programmes
- Strategic Pipeline Growth
- Identify and research target education organisations across the UK
- Build account intelligence and stakeholder maps
- Create and manage outreach campaigns through email, LinkedIn and sector engagement
- Secure meetings and demonstrations for senior commercial leadership
- Maintain accurate pipeline management within Salesforce
- Support the development of proposals, presentations and tender responses
- Help coordinate pilot programmes with schools, councils and MATs
- Develop tailored education-focused documentation and value propositions
- Assist in preparing submissions linked to SEND, Inclusion, Wellbeing, Attendance and Alternative Provision
- Coordinate internal contributions across sales, operations, marketing and leadership teams
- Sector Engagement & Representation
- Represent Cubbie at education events, conferences and exhibitions
- Support webinars, awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement activities
- Build relationships with strategic education partners and influencers
- Share insight and intelligence from the education sector back into the business
Skills & Experience
- Experience working within, or selling into, the UK education sector
- Strong understanding of the UK education landscape, Local Authorities, Maintained Schools, Multi Academy Trusts, SEND and inclusion priorities
- Knowledge of current education challenges including attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and Ofsted pressures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability
- Ability to communicate credibly with senior education leaders
- Organised, proactive and commercially aware
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Previous experience within Local Authority education services, school improvement, SEND services, MAT central teams or education consultancy
- Experience supporting public sector tenders or frameworks
- Understanding of education procurement routes
- Experience using Salesforce or CRM platforms
