Shropshire’s Cuan Wildlife Rescue seeks a Fundraising Admin Assistant apprentice to support donor stewardship, administrative processes and a major hospital capital campaign. The centre cares for approximately 6,500 animals and birds a year, with a budget of over £500 k. The apprentice salary starts at £15,600 for the first year, potentially rising with experience. The role requires 37½ hours per week, with some weekend and evening flexibility for events.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database (Beacon).
- Process donations across all channels (online, bank transfers, events, etc).
- Prepare and send thank‑you letters, receipts and donor acknowledgements.
- Support Gift Aid administration and ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Manage collection box locations.
- Assist with the preparation of fundraising materials, proposals and reports.
- Conduct basic research on potential donors, partners and funding opportunities.
- Support scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes.
- Coordinate Membership & Sponsorship Programmes.
- Help coordinate and deliver fundraising campaigns, appeals and community events.
Communications & Stewardship
- Respond to donor enquiries via email and phone in a professional manner.
- Maintain mailing lists and support delivery of newsletters and updates.
- Assist with social media content and scheduling.
Training
Apprenticeships include study time for specialist training. You will learn to use multiple IT packages relevant to the organisation, such as MS Office, to write letters, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. You will also receive coaching in record‑keeping, communication best practices and project management principles.
Qualifications
GCSE Mathematics (grade 4) required. Other relevant qualifications and industry experience will be considered.

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. The role is based in the Much Wenlock office with occasional travel to support external events.

Cuan Wildlife Rescue is Shropshire’s only wildlife rescue centre. It rescues, cares for and rehabilitates sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and birds, and facilitates their return to the wild when possible.
