Our client, a well-established Engineering business based in Kettering, has an opportunity for a part-time, detail-oriented experienced Bookkeeper/Finance professional to run their internal Accounts function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
This is a \"hands-on\" standalone accountancy and administrative role, with responsibility for the day-to-day accounting of the business, which includes:
- Imputing orders received and sending order confirmations to customers
- Invoicing
- Sales ledger
- Debtors ledger & chasing monies in
- Purchase ledger
- Paying suppliers
- Banking and cash flow management
- VAT returns
- Monthly payroll & associated filings
- Weekly reports and monthly and annual accounts
- Telephone answering and communication with customers & suppliers
- Assisting with the weekly shipping of garments
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role is essential.
- Proficiency in SAP/Sage accounting software or similar applications is preferable.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
