As a Trainee Field Technician, you will work on active construction sites, supporting the testing and inspection of materials to ensure they meet required quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on role carried out entirely in a site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with on-site testing of construction materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt and aggregates.
- Carry out basic field tests under supervision (e.g. concrete slump tests, soil compaction checks).
- Collect and label samples from the site for further testing.
- Accurately record test data and observations.
- Set up testing equipment on-site.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules.
- Work closely with other technicians and site engineers.
Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly in Maths and Science.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred as you may need to travel between sites).
- Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one).
