We are looking for a Material Site Technician to join our team on the Woodsmith Project for concrete and soil testing and sampling. This is a “no experience necessary” position as we will give full training! All we need from you is a strong work ethic, a willingness to work outdoors, and being a team player. You’ll work outdoors, away from stuffy offices, carrying out on-site testing and sampling activities. The role also requires accurate and consistent record-keeping.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Experience in construction laboratory testing is advantageous but not required.
  • IT literate.
  • Full UK driving license.

Working hours

40 hours per week on a 4-day/night on and off shift pattern.

Reporting

Responsible to: Project Manager.
Responsible for: Output of accurate testing data.

Objectives

  • To produce test results in accordance with the documented procedures, standards and specifications.
  • To ensure testing/sampling activities are maintained in compliance with UKAS and company requirements.
  • To ensure that the laboratory and site working areas are safe, clean and tidy environments.

Duties

  • To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the company health & safety policy.
  • To carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in-house procedures, in an expeditious manner.
  • To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.

Main Tasks

  • To carry out daily work tasks as set by senior personnel.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment at all times.
  • To carry out any other relevant tasks as directed by senior staff.
