Qualifications
- Education: GCSE level or above in numeracy and literacy.
- Technical Skills: IT literate, with a solid understanding of construction testing.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in construction UKAS testing and familiarity with 17025 accredited laboratory demands.
- Driving: Must have a full UK driving licence.
- Record Keeping: Accurate and consistent record-keeping skills.
Working Hours
- Standard: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
- Flexibility: Longer days with travel, occasional stays away and night shifts when necessary and optional weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Operations: Ensure timely and efficient site tests.
- Compliance: Produce test results in line with documented procedures, standards, and UKAS requirements.
- Team Supervision: Train, motivate, and deploy staff through our buddying up program.
- Safety: Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy working environment.
- Collaboration: Liaise with Operations Supervisors and Managers for smooth day-to-day operations.
Daily Duties
- Work safely following the Company Health & Safety Policy.
- Complete allocated work as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain team harmony and morale.
- Control incoming and stored test specimens.
- Assist in record maintenance related to the Management System.
- Train subordinate staff as required.
- Maintain clean and tidy work areas and equipment.
Main Tasks
- Ensure the work environment and equipment are always clean and tidy.
- Perform any other relevant tasks as directed by senior staff.
- Assume responsibilities of other Senior Technicians in their absence.
- Test materials and maintain knowledge of sampling and test procedures.
