As a Trainee Field Technician, you will work on active construction sites, supporting the testing and inspection of materials to ensure they meet required quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on role carried out entirely in a site environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with on-site testing of construction materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates
  • Carry out basic field tests under supervision (e.g. concrete slump tests, soil compaction checks)
  • Collect and label samples from site for further testing
  • Accurately record test data and observations
  • Set up testing equipment on-site
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules
  • Work closely with other technicians and site engineers

Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly in Maths and Science
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred due to travel between sites)
  • Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one)
