Payrate and shifts as a Skilled Food Operative:
Day Pay £13.05 per hour
Night Pay £14.05 per hour
Typical working hours as a Skilled Food Operative:
5am-5pm
7am-7pm
9am-9pm
4 on 3 off basis
You Role as a Skilled Food Operative:
* To support safe, efficient, and high-quality production by performing a range of operational duties across multiple lines.
* The Skilled Production Operative will be flexible in role placement, actively contribute to cleanliness and compliance, and be trained to carry out at least two key skill-based tasks as required by the business.
* Carry out a variety of operational tasks across different points of the production workflow
* Demonstrate flexibility by moving across lines and tasks depending on operational needs.
* Operate machinery safely and in line with training and procedures.
* Accurately complete all relevant production and compliance paperwork.
* Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times – clean-as-you-go is everyone\’s responsibility.
* Take ownership of assigned cleaning duties as part of daily operations.
* Adhere to hygiene standards and assist in end-of-shift clean-downs as required.
* Follow all health & safety, hygiene, allergen, and quality requirements consistently.
* Report any issues or hazards to Line Lead or FLM promptly.
* Wear the correct PPE and follow site safety rules at all times.
* Participate fully in training plans and demonstrate competence in new tasks.
* Achieve and maintain proficiency in at least two key skills, as identified by the business
* Support the upskilling of others by sharing knowledge where appropriate.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support team targets.
* Follow all reasonable management requests and contribute to a positive, respectful team culture.
* Be punctual, reliable, and proactive in supporting shift and business performance.
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a food or manufacturing environment preferred.
* Able to operate basic machinery and complete paperwork accurately.
* Good understanding of health & safety and hygiene practices.
* Able to work flexibly across different roles and teams.
* Willingness and ability to complete multi-skilling and cross-training.
