Starting salary £44,000 - dependant on experience. CTM Fabrications Limited are a well-established Steel and Metal Fabricator based in East Kilbride. We are a preferred sub-contractor for some of the largest social housing main contractors in the central belt for over 20 years assisting with the production and on-site installation of mild steel products such as fencing, gates, railings, juliet balconies, balcony rails, steel stairs and platforms, stair balustrades, grab rails, and canopies.

We are currently looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to manage the day-to-day on-site operations on behalf of CTM Fabrications Limited. This position is based at our offices in East Kilbride and the successful candidate will have access to a pool car during working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Predominantly being the first point of contact for site agents, planning schedules and managing the resource, performance and quality of CTM’s outside labour.
  • Site Management:
    • Attend pre-start, site update and ad-hoc meetings as requested.
    • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and safety compliance, monitoring the progress of daily work and resolving any issues encountered.
    • Identify and address any issues/potential problems by liaising with CTM Director and/or clients as required.
    • Carry out site measures as required, surveying for any potential hazards and providing feedback/recommendations.
    • Ensure all works on site are carried out in accordance with the drawings & specifications provided and ensure regular quality checks are completed.
    • Quickly identify and resolve on-site issues, challenges, or obstacles that may impact project timelines or quality.
    • Seek solutions collaboratively with CTM Director/client as appropriate.
    • Ensure RAMS are completed and sent to site prior to commencement of work.
    • Work closely with directors and external clients ensuring excellent communication channels.
  • Resource/Operations Management:
    • Resource/plan weekly outside labour dependant on agreed priorities to meet the requirements of individual contracts.
    • Ensure squads are 100% clear on work to be completed and that they have the tools required for the job in advance.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct regular inspections of work completed to ensure that all work meets quality standards expected by CTM.
    • Address any deficiencies in quality promptly to meet standard required and feedback to individuals.
    • Ensure all snagging is completed to standard in a timely manner.
  • Performance/Development:
    • Manage all performance aspects of directly employed staff and sub-contractors e.g. attendance, timekeeping, performance, quality, attitude.
    • Provide guidance, support, and instruction as appropriate.
    • Ensure labourers are being developed appropriately and are being given the opportunity to progress.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Complete spot checks to ensure works on site are carried out in compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
    • Implement safety protocols and conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks when required.
    • Liaise with labour to ensure all equipment and safety clothing is in good working condition.

Skills

  • Proven experience in contract management.
  • Knowledge of steel installation and site processes preferable.
  • Strong organisational skills - having the ability to coordinate teams, solve problems and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in reading construction drawings and working knowledge of Microsoft 365 e.g. Outlook, Excel.
  • Health & Safety awareness on site.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 07.30-16.00, Friday 07.30-15.00. Annual leave 33 days inclusive of bank holidays.
