CTI is seeking a Field Specialist â our elite onâsite technical resource. This is a handsâon role for an expert who can build, commission, and finish systems to the highest standard. You will be equally confident leading a team on a construction site, tuning DSPs, finalising code, or walking a client through their system on handover day. You will own every detail of delivery â mechanical, electrical, and software â ensuring that what has been engineered and preâbuilt offâsite performs flawlessly in the real world. This role demands precision, professionalism, and pride in doing things properly.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Leadership â Direct technicians, assign tasks, and ensure safe, efficient progress in line with CTI standards.
- System Integration â Install, wire, and configure complete AV systems, maintaining clean and methodical installations.
- Commissioning & Final Execution â Deploy configurations, tune DSPs, balance audio, calibrate displays, and refine control systems.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution â Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software challenges calmly and effectively.
- Client Delivery â Act as the technical face of CTI during commissioning and handover, delivering intuitive, professional systems.
- System Verification â Perform and document complete testing to ensure performance aligns with design intent.
- Training & Handover â Provide clear training to end users, prepare asâbuilt documentation, backups, and signâoff reports.
- Quality & Ownership â Inspect all work, verify terminations, labelling, and documentation before signâoff.
- Health & Safety Leadership â Lead by example, ensuring full compliance with safety policies and risk assessments.
- CrossâTeam Collaboration â Share realâworld insights with design, engineering, and service teams to improve future projects.
- Flexible Work Approach â Adapt to site requirements and deadlines without compromising quality.
- Completion & Handover â Guarantee absolute completion, including signâoffs, documentation, and smooth transition to service teams.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Breadth â Expertise across AV, UC, and broadcast systems including Crestron, QâSYS, Biamp, Extron, Shure, Ross, Disguise.
- Commissioning Proficiency â Skilled in DSP tuning, control code deployment, video calibration, and network configuration (VLAN, Dante, AES67, NDI).
- Installation Discipline â Expert mechanical and electrical installation skills, including cable management and system build quality.
- Problem Solving â Methodical faultâfinding across hardware, software, and networks.
- Documentation â Ability to produce accurate commissioning records, asâbuilt drawings, backups, and verification checklists.
- Certifications â CTS, CTSâI, ECS, SSSTS, IPAF, PASMA preferred.
