Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy & Prioritisation: Ground discovery work in revenue outcomes – assessing e‑commerce capabilities, identifying high‑value opportunities, and developing ROI‑based frameworks to determine priority focus.
  • Discovery & Insight: Run workshops and collaborative sessions to surface business needs, map jobs‑to‑be‑done, and define the value exchange between user needs and commercial goals.
  • Feasibility & Audit: Sense‑check proposed solutions against existing technical capabilities, identify gaps or dependencies, and ensure strategic ambition aligns with delivery reality.
  • Backlog & Roadmap Development: Translate discovery outputs into structured, prioritised backlogs with incremental delivery slices, and build phased implementation roadmaps with a clear business case for each stage.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as a connective thread across business, technical, and design teams – facilitating workshops, driving decisions, and maintaining momentum across workstreams.

Qualifications

  • Product Ownership in Practice: Experience acting as a Product Owner or senior analyst on complex digital programmes, guiding stakeholders and delivery teams without a formal title.
  • Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of how digital products generate revenue – conversion optimisation, revenue modelling, or ROI‑based prioritisation – applied throughout discovery.
  • Structured Discovery: Proficient at turning ambiguous briefs into clear, actionable insights, mapping user needs to business outcomes, and identifying the greatest commercial opportunity.
  • Agile Fluency: Comfortable shaping and prioritising backlogs, writing user stories, and slicing work into increments that deliver value early and often.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Designed and led working sessions with senior stakeholders, building consensus, surfacing right conversations, and leaving the room with clear decisions and next steps.
  • Communication & Artefact Creation: Produce clean, compelling artefacts – roadmaps, prioritisation frameworks, business cases – that resonate with both C‑Suite audiences and delivery teams.
