Your Role
- Service Line: Mental Health Adults - PICU, Acute and Forensic
- Salary: £32,883
- Base: Cygnet Stevenage
- Responsible for: 14 service users
- Supervision of an OTA
- Responsible to: Head of OT and Regional Lead OT
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Location: Cygnet Hospital Stevenage, Gravely Road, Stevenage, Herts SG1 4YS
Cygnet encourages applications from newly qualified or soon-to-be qualified Occupational Therapists. We offer a comprehensive support and development program, including a monthly Band 5 development program, a 12-month OT preceptorship, and weekly 1:1 supervision to support your growth and confidence in your role.
The hospital operates as a medium secure unit with a PICU/Acute service line. Our site features a variety of therapeutic resources, including a Recovery College, ADL kitchen, gym, therapeutic garden, football pitch, music studio, and more. Service users are encouraged to develop community skills with accessible transport links and a vibrant local town.
The multidisciplinary team (MDT) includes nurses, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, OTAs, and support staff. You will be an integral part of the ward MDT and OT department, working autonomously with OTA support.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Our Occupational Therapy Directorate supports over 150 Occupational Therapists and 300 OT support staff, fostering a collaborative environment with opportunities for involvement in service development and specialist interest groups. Each service line has a clinical lead OT to develop evidence-based practice and occupational therapy pathways. We value our team members' input in service model development, supported by our clinical leads.
