To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team for the Adult Emergency Department at RDH. To carry out a range of portering tasks, involving the transfer of patients on trolley and wheelchairs to other areas and wards. To be responsible for the safe stock levels of all equipment around the department. To ensure a safely stocked department, maintain and clean equipment. Assist with the movement of patients between department and hospital areas. Maintain awareness of stock, linen and equipment within department, ensuring availability at all times. Assist in emergency situations with equipment or blood product collection. Assist nursing staff with cleaning and tidiness of the department. Ensure all equipment is kept in good working and clean condition, reporting any issues. Assist with the day to day running of the department. To support with food and drink rounds in department. An average of 1115 patients are seen in A&Es across our network every day – 3rd largest in the country. Our hospitals admit an average of 195 emergency patients daily. Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres. We are one of only 7 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. We carry out more than 140 elective procedures each working day.
