Senior API Engineer – £600 per day (12 Months+ / Option of working from Remote / Outside IR35)

Greenfield project! Opportunity to design and engineer a brand-new REST API from scratch that will sit at the heart of a new system for the transport industry. No legacy spaghetti to ruin your life. You will be working in a smaller, long established, non-corporate and friendly agency outside of IR35 delivering a major project for a large transport industry client. Location London, Bristol or Cornwall. Full option of working from remote.

Must Haves

  • Great API design and documentation skills
  • Extensive proven experience of REST API interfaces that interface with SOAP API services
  • Proven experience of creating REST API written in PHP 7 in Codeigniter 3 as the framework
  • Knowledge of API testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of MySQL
  • Experience of AWS API Gateway and related tech
  • Design of smoke, sanity and unit tests
  • Good communication skills to work with third party technical teams
  • UK based during the working week
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of Drupal 7
  • Experience with API security and authentication (OAUTH)
  • Used to Agile working methodologies
  • Experience of GIT

You will be

  • Working within a tight knit team closely with and reporting to the Workstream Team leader
  • Working with the Test Engineers to create appropriate Unit Tests
