Are you a recent school leaver or in your final year of school and looking for a direct pathway to becoming a qualified tax adviser? We are offering a 5-year training opportunity (and a permanent role) to a motivated and ambitious individual with a desire to learn. This is a great opportunity to join our growing personal tax team as a Trainee Personal Tax Associate and to learn “on the job” from experienced tax professionals. You don’t need a degree to build a successful career and this role offers a practical alternative, where you can earn a salary, gain real business experience, and work in a professional environment from day one. We will support a successful candidate in achieving the “gold standard” in professional tax qualifications with a route to ATT and CTA qualification.

What is Personal Tax? Personal tax or private client tax is a system of taxation applied to individuals on their income, capital gains, savings, investments and on death. It encompasses both tax compliance matters, ensuring individuals meet statutory filing and payment requirements, and advisory services, which focus on planning for the future and optimising our clients' tax position.
The Role: As a Trainee Personal Tax Associate, you will be a key part of our personal tax team, learning the skills required to provide expert advice and support to a range of clients. As a large team, we offer both tax compliance and advisory services to our clients and you will have the chance to get involved in interesting work. Responsibilities will include preparation of tax returns, conducting research on tax rules and guidance, communication directly with HMRC on client matters and supporting the team with administrative tasks. You will learn not only the technical skills required for the role but the interpersonal and soft skills required from a tax adviser which will be key to your future growth in the industry.
