An opportunity to join one of the UK’s most successful start-ups in scientific instrumentation and analytics. This company has developed and commercialised their Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) and Lentiviral vectors (LVV) analytical equipment. Due to the success of our Consumables business, they are looking for a Graduate Lab Technician/Production Operative to join their Consumables team. The purpose of the job is to support the Operations team delivering across a range of consumables products within the company. This role would suit an individual who would like to gain experience in a lab environment. The job will be based onsite at the company’s Botley, Oxfordshire location.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Set up, monitor and maintain machines/equipment.
  • Perform production operations and processes primarily in relation to the company’s range of consumable products and packages in accordance with approved manufacturing instructions and protocol.
  • Perform Quality Control operations, including taking measurements using Mass Photometers, recording data and goods-in inspections and procedures, adhering to strict Quality Control protocols.
  • Contribute to production meetings and basic fault-finding activities.
  • Report quality issues to the Quality team and assist with associated issue resolution.
  • Support core manufacturing operations for the company’s Mass Photometer production line.
  • Perform repetitive associated production tasks, including kitting, packing, labelling, preparation and shipping.

Experience:

  • GCSE/A/AS Level in Science.
  • A degree in a science-based subject would be advantageous.
  • Experience in scientific laboratory, manufacturing clean room or hi-tech manufacturing and process environments.
  • Experience working alone and as part of a team to deliver against production targets.
  • Use of standard software packages such as Windows systems, MS Word, Excel.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to focus on the task at hand.
  • Good standard of written and verbal communication.
  • Good level of personal organisation and time management.
