I'm working with a number of leading quantum technology companies across the globe developing next-generation quantum computing and quantum networking hardware. These organisations are building neutral atom and trapped-ion platforms and are looking for talented experimental AMO physicists to join their growing teams.
Whether your expertise is in neutral atoms, trapped ions, optical tweezers, laser cooling and trapping, quantum optics or experimental quantum hardware, I'd be interested in speaking with you.
Responsibilities vary between organisations but may include:
- Designing, building and optimising cutting-edge AMO experiments
- Developing neutral atom or trapped-ion quantum hardware
- Designing and integrating optical, laser and vacuum systems
- Manipulating and controlling atomic qubits
- Characterising, testing and optimising experimental performance
- Developing experimental control software and automation tools
- Analysing experimental data to improve system performance
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of physicists and engineers to develop next-generation quantum technologies
What we're looking for:
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in one or more of the following:
- Neutral atom or trapped-ion quantum computing
- Optical tweezers
- Laser cooling and trapping
- Atomic, Molecular & Optical (AMO) physics
- Quantum optics
- Laser systems and optical instrumentation
- Ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems
- Experimental quantum hardware
- Quantum control and automation
- Scientific programming (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB or similar)
Requirements:
- PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in AMO Physics, Quantum Physics or a closely related discipline
- Hands-on experimental experience in an AMO laboratory
- Excellent problem-solving and experimental skills
- Strong communication and collaborative working style
