Overview
Early Years Apprentice position at CT Skills in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom. Location: 100 Nottingham Road, Hucknall, Nottingham, NG15 7QE.
What will I get from working with Hucknall Day Nursery?
- EARN: ÂŁ7.55 per hour, 40 hours per week
- EXPERIENCE: hours are Monday to Friday, shifts between 7.30am and 6pm
- QUALIFICATION: Early Years Educator Level 3 takes approximately 18 months
What will my day look like?
You will provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery. Your daily tasks will include:
- Preparing and delivering activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children
- Shadowing a qualified nursery practitioner
- Attending out-of-working-hours activities (training, staff meetings, parents evenings, fundraising events, etc.)
- Recording accidents and completing the relevant form
- Developing your role within the team, especially with an understanding of the role of a “key person”
- Ensuring mealtimes are a pleasant social time
- Washing and changing children as required
- Maintaining safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Keeping a poorly child calm and warm and notifying management
- Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with parents/carers to support day-to-day caring and early learning needs
- Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training
How does the Apprenticeship work?
Working towards your Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via Teams every month) with your tutor and learn modules including risk management, key person & attachment, learning & development, and more. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete apprenticeship work (assignments, research, projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.
Skills and qualifications needed
- Minimum GCSE grade 4/C in Maths & English (or equivalent)
- UK residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- Team working, motivated, reliable & patient
- Positive attitude, energetic & ambitious
What happens next?
If your application is successful, you will be contacted by a Recruitment Consultant to discuss qualification, location and course length in more detail. You will then be asked to write a supporting statement and complete an English and Maths assessment.
