C T Scott Ltd is looking for a Parts & Country Store Assistant to join our team and help with the day-to-day running of our Parts Department and Country Store. Working alongside our Parts Manager and the wider Service and Sales teams, this is a varied role covering customer service, parts identification, stock management, order processing and the general operation of a busy agricultural parts department. The position may suit someone with previous parts, stores, agricultural or retail experience, but we would also be interested in hearing from a motivated school leaver looking to begin a career and potentially progress through an apprenticeship.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to customer enquiries by phone, email, face-to-face and through online platforms
  • Looking up, identifying and sourcing the correct parts for customers
  • Processing customer collections and dispatches quickly and accurately
  • Proactively recommending and selling parts based on customer requirements
  • Supporting telephone sales and promotional campaigns
  • Working closely with the Service and Sales teams to provide the parts they require
  • Receiving, loading and unloading deliveries
  • Picking, packing and putting away stock
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with customers
  • Supporting inventory management and stock control
  • Processing invoices and carrying out general administrative tasks
  • Helping with the day-to-day running and presentation of the Country Store

You will also need to be available to cover depot opening hours, including Saturday morning shifts on a rota basis.

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and willing to learn. Good communication and customer service skills are important, along with an ability to work accurately in a busy environment. An interest in agriculture, machinery, engineering or parts would be an advantage. Previous experience is welcome, but it is not essential for the right person. This role may suit a school leaver interested in developing a career within the agricultural machinery industry, with the potential for an apprenticeship.
