Overview
The Associate Consultant role sits within the Research practice and supports the delivery of high-quality strategic research for corporate and political clients. Working closely with senior colleagues, the role contributes to client deliverables, proposals and business development activity, while developing the technical, analytical and client-facing skills needed to progress within the practice. The role will service clients across a wide geography, offering exposure to a broad international client base. Projects span strategic research, statistical analysis, and public affairs and communications work, delivered as part of a wider project team.
This role would suit an early-career professional with a strong quantitative grounding and a genuine interest in politics and public opinion, looking to build a career in strategic insight.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day research, analysis and report writing across multiple projects
- Supporting with research, proposals, presentations and client pitches to attract new clients and projects to the business
- Anticipating and communicating project risks and actively seeking solutions
- Working with colleagues to assist with networking and business development opportunities
- Gathering, understanding and documenting research findings using appropriate databases, tools and techniques
- Analysing quantitative data sets, including polling, public and market data, to support client deliverables
- Building and maintaining data models and trackers to support research and reporting
- Translating complex data into clear charts, dashboards and visual summaries for client outputs
- Ensuring all work is delivered accurately and to a high standard, with close attention to detail
Skills
The ideal candidate will be a highly driven and attentive individual with exceptional research, analytical and communication skills, and should demonstrate the following:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Aptitude for analytical and creative thinking
- Understanding of research methods, analysis and report writing
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with data sets, statistics or numerical information
- Ability to interpret and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data into clear, client-ready analysis
- Experience with statistical and data analysis tools such as Python, R or SQL, and with Excel and data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with research methods such as regression, segmentation or conjoint analysis, is desirable
- A numerate background, such as a degree in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, behavioural science or a related field, is desirable
- Strong organisational skills and methodical working practices
- Excellent attention to detail
- Adaptability and ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is a prerequisite
