Here at CT Fire Protection Ltd, we are currently seeking a Sprinkler Project / Design Engineer to join our small but highly effective team. This is an opportunity for an experienced sprinkler professional who wants to take true ownership of projects, combining technical design expertise with hands-on project delivery and client engagement.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys variety and responsibility, not just producing designs, but seeing projects through from initial enquiry to final commissioning. You’ll be confident working independently, comfortable liaising directly with clients and contractors, and motivated by being part of a close-knit business where your contribution genuinely matters.
We operate primarily on small to medium-sized projects, extensions, and installations for existing customers rather than large-scale new builds. This means regular interaction with clients, site teams, and suppliers, and real involvement at every stage of the process. The role is a mix of home working, office-based work (to suit), and UK-wide site visits.
What We Offer
We offer a salary of £50,000 and £60,000 depending on experience plus a car allowance. In addition, you’ll benefit from 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, an extra day off for your birthday, and the ability to purchase additional holiday time.
You will also have the opportunity to become an integral part of our leadership team, working alongside the Business MD and Contracts Manager, influencing how projects are delivered and helping shape the future of the business.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
- Design, manage, and deliver fire sprinkler projects in line with BS EN 12845, FM, NFPA, and relevant insurance and regulatory standards, from survey through to commissioning.
- Produce AutoCAD (2D) design drawings, technical submissions, specifications, and schematics that are compliant, practical, and buildable.
- Attend site surveys, design meetings, and client meetings, coordinating closely with installation teams, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Manage quality, documentation, programme delivery, and project finances to ensure targets, compliance, and client expectations are consistently met.
Experience Required For The Role
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a fire sprinkler project or design engineering role, with strong knowledge of BS EN 12845.
- Working understanding of sprinkler standards including FM and NFPA, with the ability to apply them practically on site.
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising directly with clients, consultants, engineers, and site teams.
- LPCB qualifications desirable (or willingness to work towards them), with a proactive, organised, and hands-on approach.
Do you see yourself reflected in the description above? If so, we encourage you to apply today. If you’re unsure whether you tick every box, we’d still welcome your application—we value strong technical foundations, the right attitude, and a willingness to grow.
