SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER — Building Services
Consolux | Liverpool or Manchester | 4-Day Week
Salary – Negotiable depending on experience.
Consolux is a specialist MEP consultancy with 20+ staff and offices in Liverpool and Manchester. We deliver electrical and mechanical building services design across high‑rise residential, commercial offices, and refurbishment developments — including several live schemes in Manchester — with in‑house sustainability and CAD/Revit teams embedded in our workflow. We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join us in a lead design and client‑facing capacity.
What the role involves
- Leading full electrical design from concept to construction — lighting, power, containment, LV distribution, fire detection, and emergency systems
- Electrical calculations and compliance checks using Amtech or equivalent
- Leading BSR submissions and managing design through the gateway process for higher‑risk buildings
- Client meetings, design reviews, and representing Consolux at project team level
- Advising on sustainable design — low‑carbon systems, energy modelling, Part L compliance — working closely with our in‑house sustainability team
- Delivering across both high‑rise residential and commercial private sector projects
- Mentoring junior and intermediate engineers and contributing to team development
- Supporting business development where appropriate
Requirements
- Degree‑qualified with 7+ years in a building services consultancy
- Proven track record across high‑rise residential and commercial private development
- Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Regulator framework and higher‑risk building requirements
- Competent across electrical calculation software — Amtech as standard
- Clear understanding of sustainable design (not optional)
- IEng or CEng status, or actively working towards it, is preferred
