We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This junior role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in accounting and finance. The successful candidate will support the accounts department with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records and assist with posting transactions.
- Purchase Ledger Management: Complete new supplier information forms, process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, and manage payment runs.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Nominal Codes: Ensure correct coding of transactions to appropriate nominal accounts.
- Expense Management: Assist in processing employee expense claims and verifying supporting documentation.
- Month-End Support: Help prepare journals and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Data Entry & Filing: Maintain organized records and ensure timely data entry into accounting systems.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Support the finance team with additional duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with purchase ledger processes and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of nominal codes and chart of accounts.
