Working within a busy outdoor timber yard and manufacturing environment, supporting production and logistics operations through efficient material handling, stock control, and yard management. This role requires a valid side loader and/or multi-directional forklift licence, with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking and supplying timber to saws within an outdoor timber yard environment.
- Operating side loader and/or multi-directional forklifts to move raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
- Using internal systems to check off picked jobs, track progress, and organise daily workload.
- Managing timber stock levels, including waste control and segregation.
- Removing finished products from the factory and transferring them to designated storage or loading areas.
- Loading HGVs with finished products, including roof trusses and engineered floor joists.
- Unloading incoming deliveries from HGVs and ensuring goods are stored correctly.
- Carrying out general yard housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Adhering to all health & safety procedures, particularly when working outdoors and with heavy materials.
- Supporting production and logistics teams to meet daily operational targets.
Skills & Experience:
- Valid side loader and/or multi-directional forklift licence (essential).
- Previous experience in a timber yard, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment (preferred).
- Confident working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good IT or system-based skills for logging jobs and managing workload.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
- Reliable with own transport to the East Harling site.
- Pro-active, can-do attitude with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a temp-to-perm opportunity.
