Our client is a self‑reliant, family‑run business that designs, manufactures and delivers exceptionally high‑quality furniture to hospitality clients both nationally and internationally. Due to their continued growth, expansion and development they are looking for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to join their team in Larling, Norfolk to manage their Dispatch Team. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm. Competitive salary offered dependent on experience.
Candidates must be reliable with a can‑do attitude and have a flexible approach to working time to meet peak workloads. You must also be a team player with the ability to use your own initiative, be a good communicator and have a keen eye for detail to ensure deliveries are loaded correctly. Must have manual handling experience. Experience in a similar dispatch role loading furniture is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loading/Unloading lorries
- Ensuring goods dispatched are packaged correctly to prevent damage in transit
- Ensuring loads are secure, safe, segregated and accessible for each separate delivery
- Ensuring loads fit to maximise space and weight on the lorry
- Counting and checking goods in and out, signing off paperwork
- Prioritising workloads (delivery schedule/production schedule)
- Liaison with Logistics, Warehouse, Sales and Production Planning Departments to ensure customer orders are correct, to check production status prior to dispatch, identify any problems which need rectifying prior to dispatch
- Liaison with delivery drivers, ensuring they have correct paperwork, itinerary details, any special instructions, keys, tools and fixings for job
- Ensuring lorries and keys are secure at all times (night and day)
- Health and Safety in the dispatch area, ensuring fire exits always kept clear
- Assisting in other Warehouse and Production duties as required
- Any other duties that may be required
