Recycling Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Background

CSS Recycling are the leading processor and recycler of Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Recycling or WEEE waste in the UK, through the expertise of our people and the investment in technology we promote and deliver a sustainable solution for recycling of WEEE waste. Established for over 35 years we have major contracts with local authorities, utility companies and businesses alike.

As a result of continuous business growth, we are looking to expand our team and recruit an additional, experienced Plant Engineer/Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career and join a well- established and successful team.

Day work only Hours of work: Monday to Friday: 45 hours — Plus 4 hours Saturday mornings totalling 49 hours per week, plus overtime.

Main Duties

  1. Inspect and troubleshoot industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor belts and other plant machinery.
  2. Fixing faults on plant machinery or arranging for replacements to be installed.
  3. Carrying out inspections on plant equipment.
  4. Preventative maintenance.
  5. Welding activities when necessary.
  6. Dealing with breakdowns, unplanned problems, and repairs.
  7. Check functionality of safety systems.

Candidate Attributes and Experience

  1. Previous mechanical and electrical experience.
  2. Experience in repairing mobile plant such as forklifts.
  3. Background in Lorries (HGV) maintenance or any vehicle maintenance; – not mandatory, however represents an advantage.
  4. Experience in repairing any equipment such as conveyor belts, industrial shredders, granulators.
  5. Experience in repairing/maintaining any industrial equipment.
  6. Basic knowledge of electrical systems — is an advantage but not essential.
  7. Welding skills.
  8. Fault find skills.
  9. Good problem-solving.
  10. Fluent English Required.
  11. Physically fit.
  12. UK Driving License.
