Design Manager - Dublin An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager to join a leading main contractor based in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated design professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of major commercial construction projects across the Dublin region.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Design Manager will take responsibility for leading and coordinating the design process, ensuring that projects are delivered in line with the client's requirements, programme, budget, quality standards and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the project design process, ensuring alignment with project objectives, programme and commercial requirements.

Plan, programme and manage design activities throughout the tender, preferred bidder and construction stages.

Proactively manage and coordinate appointed consultants, subcontractors and design teams throughout the design development process.

Review and effectively implement the Employer's Requirements, ensuring solutions are both technically compliant and commercially viable.

Identify and manage design and commercial risks, while proactively maximising value-engineering opportunities.

Ensure all design proposals achieve the necessary statutory and regulatory approvals, including planning conditions, Building Control and BREEAM requirements.

Coordinate BIM design information and manage model coordination and clash detection to support efficient project delivery.

Work closely with the project team and CDM Coordinator to identify and eliminate potential health and safety risks arising from the design.

Promote and maintain the company's Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain and develop professional and technical knowledge through relevant training and continued professional development.

Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants, design teams, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

Represent the company professionally at all times, promoting a positive image with clients, project teams and the wider public.

Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the successful delivery of the role.

The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have a degree in Construction, Architecture or a related discipline, together with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Design Management, Architectural or Project Management capacity.

You will ideally have: Proven experience within the construction or property sector.

Strong design management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Practical experience with BIM, design coordination and clash detection.

A good understanding of construction processes, regulations and statutory approvals.

Strong commercial awareness, with experience identifying design efficiencies and value-engineering opportunities.

Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.

The ability to manage multiple priorities while working to demanding project programmes.
