This is a key commercial position designed for an experienced surveyor capable of managing the full lifecycle of projects ranging from £2 million to £8 million. Based at the regional headquarters with flexibility for remote work, you will take a lead role in the commercial delivery of diverse schemes, including local education builds, housing frameworks, and major leisure developments in London. This role offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to influence project profitability while working closely with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of projects from initial procurement through to final account settlement.
  • Leading the procurement process, including the selection and management of specialist subcontractor packages.
  • Preparing and managing detailed CVRs, monthly cost reports, and financial forecasts for the board.
  • Identifying, valuing, and negotiating project variations and claims to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payment certifications, and dispute resolution.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior and graduate surveying staff.
  • Coordinating with site and project managers to ensure commercial targets are hit without compromising on quality.

Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 to 8+ years of experience within a Main Contractor or specialist fit-out environment.
  • Proven experience in either New Build, Fit-out, or Measured Term Contracts (MTC).
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle high-value client relationships.
