Following a period of significant expansion, the business is strengthening its estimating function and is seeking an ambitious professional to lead the pricing of a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across Dublin and Leinster.

As Lead Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in developing tender strategies, managing the estimating team and ensuring the company continues to deliver competitive, accurate and commercially robust bids.

The Role

You will take ownership of the estimating process from initial tender through to contract award, working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the preparation, review and submission of competitive and commercially robust tenders.
  • Managing and developing a team of Estimators, providing direction, support and mentoring.
  • Reviewing tender documentation and ensuring all requirements are fully understood and accurately reflected in pricing.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive and reliable quotations for labour, materials and specialist works.
  • Identifying value-engineering and cost-reduction opportunities to strengthen the company's tender position.
  • Working closely with clients throughout the tender process and maintaining strong relationships through to contract award.
  • Collaborating with the Construction and Commercial teams to develop effective tender and estimating strategies.
  • Providing commercial insight and technical input to support successful bid submissions.
  • Assisting with the development of construction programmes and delivery strategies at project award stage.
  • Ensuring tenders are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
  • Continuously reviewing and improving estimating procedures, systems and best practices.
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures and relevant Health & Safety legislation.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Estimator who is ready to take on a significant leadership role. You will ideally have:

  • 10+ years' experience in construction estimating, ideally within a main contracting environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the pre-construction and tendering process.
  • Proven experience leading, managing and developing an estimating team.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a detailed understanding of construction costs, procurement and subcontractor pricing.
  • Excellent client-facing, communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to develop and implement effective tender strategies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex tenders simultaneously.
  • A proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving and commercial decision-making.
  • The confidence and ambition to make a genuine contribution to the continued growth of the business.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is more than an opportunity to take on another estimating position. It is a chance to step into a key leadership role with a highly successful main contractor, working on some of Ireland's most significant and prestigious construction projects. You will have the autonomy to influence the estimating function, develop a talented team and play an important role in securing the company's future project pipeline. In recognition of the importance of the role, the successful candidate will receive a market-leading salary and comprehensive benefits package, tailored to reflect their experience and expertise.

If you are an experienced Senior Estimator looking for a genuine opportunity to progress into a leadership position within a progressive and growing organisation, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
