Senior Project Manager - Construction Consultancy An established multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Belfast office.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a diverse range of projects across Northern Ireland, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to ensure successful delivery. * Previous Project Management experience with a Construction Consultancy (Building) is essential for this role* This role would suit a confident and experienced Senior Project Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of projects, managing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the regional team.
The successful candidate will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial client brief and feasibility through design development, procurement, construction and final completion. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage programmes and risks, coordinate stakeholders and provide clients with clear, professional advice throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects across Northern Ireland. Manage projects from inception and feasibility through to construction and completion. Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved. Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage communication between project stakeholders. Chair and lead client, consultant and contractor meetings. Oversee procurement activities and provide advice on appropriate procurement routes.
Identify, monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor contractor performance, programme progress and overall project delivery during construction. Maintain strong and effective relationships with clients, consultants and contractors. Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and professional guidance. Support and mentor junior members of the project management team. Assist with business development and contribute to developing new and existing client relationships across the region.
About You
The ideal Senior Project Manager will have: Substantial experience working in a construction consultancy environment. A strong track record of managing construction projects from initial concept through to completion. Experience coordinating and leading multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams. Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills. A relevant degree or professional qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of construction procurement, programme management and project risk. Previous experience supporting, mentoring or developing junior project managers would be beneficial. The confidence and commercial awareness to independently manage complex projects and take responsibility for their successful delivery.
