A well-known fitout contractor in Co. Antrim has a new opportunity for an Assistant Contracts Manager to join the team. Due to a period of growth, the opportunity to fulfil an integral role working as manager between the Delivery & Commercial departments and have responsibility towards the successful delivery of the contract.

Other key duties include:

  • Assisting the Contracts Department in the delivery of the contract to include liaising with other departments within the Company
  • Requisitioning & measuring quantities of materials & sourcing alternatives as required
  • Assisting in the management and performance of off location contracts
  • Assisting in the management of contract variations to support the Contracts Manager
  • Making full use of your communication negotiating, influencing, analysing, problem solving, planning and organising skills
  • Maintaining client relationships
  • Assisting with Procurement & Materials Buying
  • Assisting with planning/ programming
  • Attending weekly project review meetings
  • Managing all contractual variances in conjunction with the Commercial Department
  • Subcontractor management
  • Providing leadership and direction to Assistant Contract Managers / Project employees

Criteria:

  • Ideally educated to Degree level with at least 2-3 years previous experience working in a construction related industry in a similar role
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully manage the delivery of a project/contract from inception
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative
  • Demonstrate leadership/ management skills and commercial awareness
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

On offer is a package tailored to your experience. Travel to site is required 1-2 days per week.
