A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of Ireland's most established and highly regarded main contractors. With a strong pipeline of major construction projects across Wicklow and South Dublin, the company is continuing to grow its commercial team and is looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of high-value projects.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will take ownership of the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with clients, subcontractors and project teams throughout the process.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have a key role in driving the commercial performance of your projects, while also contributing to the development of the wider commercial team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking commercial ownership of projects from pre-contract through to final account.
- Preparing, managing and agreeing detailed project accounts.
- Leading cost and value management, ensuring projects remain commercially controlled throughout delivery.
- Managing commercial relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
- Procuring and managing subcontractors, including valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
- Managing variations, change control and commercial risk.
- Undertaking accurate measurement and valuation of works.
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts and financial performance.
- Working closely with the construction and project management teams to maximise project performance.
- Providing commercial guidance and mentoring junior members of the team.
- Supporting the Commercial Director and senior management team with commercial reporting and decision-making.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual, commercial and company requirements.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent commercial and interpersonal skills. You will ideally have:
- A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in a similar position, ideally within a main contracting environment.
- Strong experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle.
- Excellent knowledge of construction practices, contracts, measurement and commercial management.
- Proven experience in subcontractor management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills.
- The ability to lead, mentor and motivate junior commercial staff.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial software.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and a genuine ambition to progress.
