We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Gateman/Woman for our client's large construction site in Belfast City Centre. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, contractors, and team members, managing access points with professionalism and attentiveness. Your presence will help maintain a secure environment, facilitate smooth operations, and support the overall success of our project. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic construction environment while developing valuable skills.

Responsibilities

  • Control access to the construction site by verifying identities and issuing visitor passes
  • Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises
  • Communicate clearly with visitors, contractors, and staff using effective English language skills
  • Conduct routine inspections of the site perimeter and gate area to identify any security concerns
  • Maintain accurate logs of all visitors, deliveries, and personnel movements throughout shifts
  • Assist in coordinating vehicle movements, including guiding trucks and drivers safely on-site
  • Respond promptly to any security incidents or emergencies, notifying relevant authorities as needed

Experience

  • Prior experience in construction sites is preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English for clear interactions with visitors and team members
  • Valid driving license with experience operating vehicles within a construction environment is advantageous
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts
  • Basic understanding of site safety protocols and security procedures is beneficial
