Essential Job Functions:

  • To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Must be computer literate on the Windows platform.
  • Previous automotive finishing and robotic experience required.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience with industrial control an asset.
  • Computer technology and programming an asset.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is required.

Deliverables:

  • Developing and maintaining the process sequence of operations for a particular product line in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Coordinating with the Maintenance and Tool & Die Departments on troubleshooting issues to include downtime and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinating with Production, Maintenance, Tool & Die and purchasing on the purchase, delivery and installation of new and replacement equipment in support of a particular process line.
  • Coordinating with the Quality Assurance Department on customer specifications and in-process quality control.
  • Developing and maintaining a process control system to reduce the process variables for a particular product line.
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing process problems, concerns and issues related to each process line.
  • Improve labor efficiency and decrease equipment downtime.
  • May be assigned duties as a TS-16949 auditor.
  • Comply with all TS-16949 and ISO-14001 requirements.
  • Monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 policies and procedures.
  • Has the following support responsibilities on New Product Development: Warranty Data Analysis, Tool Line Up, MRP Readiness, Capital Requirements, Team Feasibility Commitment, Capital Appropriations, Bill Prototype Parts, MRP Readiness, Production Process Flow, Production Process FEMA, Production Control Plan, Pre Launch Control Plan, Production Work Instructions, Manufacturing Constraint Analysis, Production Validation Run @ Rate Report, Lessons Learned, Cross Functional Team Identification, Timing Schedule, Material Selection and Customer Approval, APQP Supporting Documents/Checklist, Design Failure Mode and Affect Analysis, Continuous Cost Improvement, Mistake Proofing, New Program Leadership Transfer, Launch Readiness Review, Tooling & Equipment Installation, Production Tooling Buyoff, Design Approval-Tooling & Inspection Fixtures, Pre Launch Production, Customer Assembly Plant Launch Coordination.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in a related and technical field of study required. Six years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking / standing for minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and/or alternate shifts as required.
  • Must be able to travel from time to time including overnight, as required.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles (eye protection is required), fumes, machine vibration, noisy conditions (hearing protection is required), moderate to contaminated air, (respirators are required in designated areas), high temperatures and occasionally operating in a restricted work area. Also, general office environment.
